Khine Su Win- Global Health & Human Rights Specialist

“I am a queer feminist human rights advocate, medical doctor, and global health professional currently working on gender equality, human rights, LGBTI inclusion, organisational development, and community strengthening across Asia. I am based in Bangkok and collaborate closely with regional partners to strengthen community-centered learning systems, advance gender-based violence prevention, and promote locally led approaches.

The MPH in Global Health program at Thammasat University provided me with a transformative foundation to approach global health through an intersectional lens. Working with multicultural and diverse peers strengthened my leadership skills and enhanced my ability to navigate complex challenges. The course deepened my understanding of how social determinants of health are interconnected and shape the wellbeing of individuals and communities. Overall, the experience reinforced my commitment to collective advocacy and inspired me to more intentionally challenge unequal power structures in the pursuit of social justice.

As part of the Foundations 1 course, I took the policy analysis module together with students from Maastricht University. Collaborating on a cross-national online group assignment pushed me to think more critically and systematically, while also learning to navigate diverse perspectives with cultural sensitivity and manage time zone differences effectively. This experience strengthened my ability to work in international, multidisciplinary teams — a skill that has been invaluable in my professional work after graduation.”
